Aye, Aye

 

• Lines (I) with eye

 

• The ayes have it…

 

• Began painting this picture just to see what lines of primary colors gradually mixed might look like

• Began to see the symbolism of the line as a horizontal “I”

• Made the enharmonic modulation from “I” to “Eye”

• Was reminded of a pictorial representation of rods and cones in the retina from a science textbook I remembered studying in my earlier years

• After the painting was finished, it didn’t seem finished

• Decided to draw an eye over the primary color lines

• The I(s) should be horizontal (ie. – supine, as in 6’ under)
